Dear Son,

I want you to read The Odyssey, but only when you are ready.

The Odyssey is a difficult book, worth understanding. If you don't understand some of the words used in the book, then you are not ready. Every year, I want you to sit down for an hour, and read. If you feel as if you are ready, I want you to continue reading until you reach the very end. I myself, made the mistake of reading this to early, don't make that same mistake. Do what feels right to you.  At times, The Odyssey make get boring, but at times, The Odyssey can get super intense. It's those times you should anticipate. I don't want you to be an early bloomer. In order to really understand The Odyssey, you must be able to understand it. When you are ready to take the step from childhood to manhood, you will know. You will know.
